1 Point Perspective Collages
To be an artist, one must be willing to put in the time & energy to develop and refine their skills. Though "natural" talent helps, there are no short cuts in life or art. During my time in college, there were assignments that truly were a struggle. Portrait drawing was one. However, I never gave up. I wish I could say that I magically became a master at drawing portraits, but I can not. Sometimes we can work with all that we are, and the end results aren't sunshine and roses. Work isn't always about the outcome, but the attitude with which we work that matters.
Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.

Check out these examples.
- Create a one point perspective drawing using at least 7 boxes (you may use other geometric shapes if you want to).
- Cut out your drawing. Check for a balanced composition. Re-draw the 1-pt drawing onto cardboard.
- Explore color schemes. Do you want to use warm and cool colors? Complimentary colors? Analogous colors?
- Paint the "tails" of your shapes using the Color Scheme you have pre-developed.
- Once the design is painted, cut out your perspective drawing.
- Using your pre-developed color scheme, create a collage from old magazines on a cardboard base.
- Cut out small cardboard squares and glue underneath your perspective cutout to "lift" the cutout from the collaged cardboard base. Using hot glue, assemble the perspective cutout to the collaged box.
