Drawing Texture & Variety

Everyone is creative. Creativity is hardwired into our DNA by God himself. All of us were made to be creative people. Creative juices run hot through our veins.
Objectives:
You will be able to describe different types of textures; use lines, patterns, and value to draw patterns and create a picture.
Materials:
pencils, erasers, colored pencils, pens, paper
Process:
- watch this video:
- Fold a piece of drawing paper in half lengthwise. Fold it in half again. Open it up.
- Fold the paper in half widthwise. Fold it in half again. Open it up. Your paper should be divided into 16 spaces.
- In each of the 16 blocks list a texture you would see in the world (such as prickly, smooth) or a 3D object that has texture (such as wood, leaves) and create a visual texture that would express it.
