Process:
- Pictures of the land are called “Landscape”, a picture of a city is called a “Cityscape”, a picture of the ocean or sea is called a “Seascape”.
- View the art by A. E. Backus, Grant Wood, and Romare Bearden that feature open countryside, city scape, and seascape. All are found in America.
- Which do you like most? Which do you think is a landscape? A cityscape? A seascape?
- Choose what "scape" you would like to create and divide into groups by your chosen "scape" type.
- Together determine a design for your "scape." You will work together to create a mixed-media collage that you will be proud of as a representational art piece that uses overlapping and variations in size to create the illusion of space, depth, and distance.
- You will title your work, write a brief descriptive paragraph about inspirations and processes, and will share your final designs by participating in a group critique.
